Insurance/Superbill Information: 

Tuckahoe Counseling is an out-of-network provider which means that we require full payment at the time of service. We are happy to provide you with a monthly statement of services which you may submit directly to insurance for possible reimbursement (called a Superbill). To determine your out-of-network coverage, we recommend you contact your insurance provider and ask the following questions:

What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health?

How much of my deductible has been met this year?

What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health?

Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?

How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?

 

*Please know that a Superbill does not guarantee reimbursement for services rendered.

Why does Tuckahoe Counseling not take insurance?

Tuckahoe Counseling is currently an out-of-network provider for a variety of reasons:

 

1. Increased confidentiality- Your personal information is kept private such as mental health history

2. Less emphasis on diagnosis/labels- Out of Network allows increased attention to the needs of the client instead of the diagnosis

3. Flexibility in treatment frequency and durations- out of network allows for individualized treatment plans, including collaborative determination of frequency and duration based on your needs and not on what the insurance deems appropriate

Accepted forms of Payment:

Major credit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Checks (return fee applicable). Payment for services is due at the time of each session.
